I must admit that I felt the energy by the blowers used did not seem justified for private individuals and certainly the noise pollution is unpleasant in the industrial sized blowers. I have not started my annual rake and leaf collection. I find it therapeutic to put the pretty coloured leaves on the borders to enjoy for longer and the Ash leaves in the compost to make me feel virtuous and productive. Amelia

My neigbour uses his leaf blower twice a day, every day except when it snows. He also blows every fragment of life from his mothers garden which is on the other side of me, so I enjoy his “gardening “ four times a day. He also paints his tarmac regularly. There is no life at all where he can reach.

So sad when clean equates to good in the garden. Sorry to be sexist but I have found the regimented garden more of a man thing (should I be saying that?).

In my experience this is true, but I have also seen plenty of women take no interest at all in their garden and are happy let the men tidy it up out of existence.

I agree as they’re far too noisy and not really that efficient. xx

I like the idea of outlawing them. Mini beats can out run a broom but not a leaf blower that Hoover them up. Getting rid of them would increase biodiversity at a stroke ! Xx
